We’d like to welcome the Chicago Park District to Active Network as a client! Full disclosure: it’s pretty exciting. Chicago Park District is the largest municipal park manager in the nation and is moving online for its staff and citizens. Here is what they manage:

- 71 fitness centers
- 22 turf fields
- 8 gymnastic centers
- 2 conservatories
With so many great programs and active opportunities around the city, the staff has a lot on their hands. Here’s how Active’s recreation management software will help the staff and the citizens:
1. All facilities will be managed in one place
Scheduling, payments, registration, and financial reporting for every facility and program will live in one system for the staff to manage operations more efficiently.
2. Citizens can view programs, events, and information online
All programs and events will be posted online for people to view and register.
3. Thousands of online transactions can take place at once
During peak seasons, thousands of people will be able to register simultaneously. For spring programs, Chicago will open registration in February.
4. Permits, rentals, and reservations will happen online
Later this year, the Chicago Park District is expected to offer the purchasing of permits online. Also, people will be able to rent and reserve sites without going into the offices.
5. Time and money will be saved by all
