July 21, 2009 – William Penn University, a private university located in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and founded in 1873, has selected The Active Network, Inc., to provide campus recreation software for its $25 million capital improvement project which includes a new recreational and activity center and academic space. Previously relying on manual, paper-based processes, the university will now use ActiveNet, a web-based campus recreation software system, to streamline processes, grow its membership base, and improve facility management.
ActiveNet enables universities to quickly and easily offer everything from activity registration to facility reservation and membership management, as well as integrate with existing student information systems. A software-as-a-service solution, ActiveNet eliminates the expense, time and technology investments associated with purchasing a client-server solution. For William Penn University, ActiveNet will automate and streamline operations and improve the management of facility bookings, lockers, equipment and memberships.
