CSU Long Beach 9th California State University to Select Active Network’s Campus Recreation Software

April 07, 2010 – California State University Long Beach (CSULB) has selected campus recreation technology from the Active Network, Inc. (Active), a leading provider of software technology and marketing solutions for community service organizations, to streamline operations for its new Student Recreation & Wellness Center. CSULB’s center, scheduled to open in the fall of 2010, joins eight other California State Universities already using Active’s campus recreation software including Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Fullerton, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco and San Jose. UC Irvine and Santa Barbara also use Active’s technology.

After a thorough selection process, CSULB found that Active provided superior customer support and robust technology necessary to support a facility that attracts over 35,000 students annually. With Active’s software in place, the university will be able to offer online program registration, automated facility bookings, and league scheduling, while providing recreation directors with access to financial reporting tools to help them make informed decisions about their business. In addition, Active’s software reduces the complexity of managing such a large facility allowing more time to focus on other important areas.
